The sweets in the shop are a mix of store-bought and handmade. We made the floor out of black and white vinyl tiles. My mom made the low display case (far left, with the cash register) and the slanted-front display case (right side) based on similar furniture we saw in a catalog. Years later, as an adult, I bought one of the pieces that had served as her inspiration (back left corner). The two white racks in the back are still empty. I had planned to make eight types of cake but never got around to doing so. Someday I will!
The front wall hinges open. My mom sewed the curtains for the window.
