Prior to Thanksgiving, I had started experimenting with polymer clay color mixes for my ten gelato flavors. However, like last year, I’m taking a bit of a break from my dollhouse projects to work on some Christmas ornaments. I’ve had a few disasters trying some new clay techniques but have also made some really cool pieces. I’ve also become completely obsessed with coloring glass ornaments with alcohol ink. More on all of this after the holidays, once I’ve had a chance to take some pictures.
Meanwhile, I decided to finish up these labels that I’d started a couple of months ago. I created the design in Photoshop using a super tiny font and some Google images. Once I cut out the ovals (two for each flavor), I covered the paper with self-adhesive glossy laminate. I made sure to cover the back as well, so that the glue wouldn’t soak through and discolor the paper.
For the clear base, I cut out an ice cream cone shape from some flat scraps of plastic packaging, and then glued an oval label to each side so that they are double-sided.
