This door, along with the ones from Pasticceria Penso and Osteria Al Vecchio Stallo, was among the first components I worked on around a year and a half ago, when I first started these projects. I had to remove the door (and its plexiglass window) so that I could stain and varnish it. I chose to go with a wood stain, rather than painting it white or pink to match the rest of the facade, because I thought it would be more authentic. I see so many dollhouses painted like Victorian houses, and a painted door would be perfectly fine for that style. However, it’s not something I saw at all in this part of Italy.
