2023 was a pretty rough year for my family, and I haven’t had a chance to work on any of my dollhouse projects for over five months. To my great relief, life started getting back to normal in December, so I carved out a couple afternoons for creative time and made some more alcohol ink Christmas ornaments. I can’t believe it’s actually been four years since I made my last batch. When I made those ornaments, my son was still in middle school and no one had yet heard of Covid-19!
This time, I only made six ornaments, three using the sprayed-air method and three using the felt-pouncing method. (For a description of how I made them, see my first alcohol ink ornament post.)
Given that I always tend to gravitate toward my favorite colors, I like to make it a personal challenge to work with color combinations that I haven’t yet tried. This year that goal led me to make two ornaments using my least favorite color, orange. I have six glass balls left, and unless I start buying more inks, next time I think I’ll have to start repeating color combos.
